Sęp – Amator Leopoldów-Rososz: a 5–2 win in the first friendly match before the spring round of the 2024/25 season

The first friendly was originally scheduled for Saturday, February 2, but due to some players’ prom (studniówka) plans, it was held yesterday at 8:30 p.m. in Gończyce. We faced Amator Leopoldów-Rososz, a team competing in the Lublin A-Class.

The first half, in which our most experienced players took part, ended with a comfortable 3–0 lead in our favor. In the 11th minute, Maksymilian Dębowski found the net, capitalizing on a pass from Damian Grzyb. Six minutes later, Szymon Kryczka scored the second goal, and the same player made it 3–0 in the 36th minute.

After the break, coach Piotr Szymański gave many young players the chance to play, so at times a completely different lineup was on the pitch compared to the first half (apart from goalkeeper Dominik Kowalski). In the 50th minute, Maksymilian Dębowski extended our lead to 4–0, but then the opponents began to dominate, taking advantage of our defensive errors. In the 51st minute, Karol Wałachowski scored Amator’s first goal, and Arkadiusz Mazurek added a second in the 62nd minute. Two minutes later, Dębowski sealed the 5–2 victory by completing his hat-trick.
