Sęp - Hutnik Huta Czechy: 2:4 loss in the season opener due to a series of defensive errors

In Saturday's match, the Hutnik players started off slightly better, creating several dangerous opportunities at Sęp's goal. As early as the 12th minute, Marcin Jedynak confidently utilized a pass from Mateusz Rękawek, who sent the ball from his own half past the advanced defensive line of the żelechowians, and took a shot from 13 meters, giving the visitors a one-goal lead. Sęp responded very quickly, less than 4 minutes later, with an almost identical move. This time, Paweł Mazurek passed the ball behind the visiting team's defensive line, and Kuba Gałkowski completed the formalities by lobbing the oncoming goalkeeper, Piotr Kardyka, making it 1:1. Both sides tried to attack and managed to construct several plays at the opponent's goal, but none were threatening enough to change the score before halftime.

The second half of the match saw a slight possession advantage for Sęp, but again, more shots were taken by the players under coach Robert Kwiatkowski. Nevertheless, luck favored the hosts. In the 60th minute, Kuba Gałkowski was fouled in Hutnik's penalty area by Daniel Przybysz, which resulted in a penalty kick. The victim himself stepped up to take the kick, and with a precise shot close to the right post, he scored, giving Sęp a 2:1 lead. A few minutes later, the żelechowians could have been leading 3:1 if the duo of Kuba Gałkowski and Albert Stodulski had converted their chance. Unfortunately, Gałkowski chose to shoot, hitting the goalkeeper, and a subsequent attempt moments later by the incoming winger Michał Jaworski was off-target

Despite Sęp's inefficiency, it seemed they would be able to maintain their one-goal lead until the end of the match. However, that didn't happen. In the 86th minute, the visitors were taking a corner kick. The ball was played right in front of Sęp's goal, from where Bartek Wdowiak tried to clear it. Unfortunately, he didn't connect cleanly with the ball and ended up putting it into his own net, leveling the score for Hutnik at 2:2. Less than 180 seconds later, the visitors conducted a combined play down the right wing, culminating in a shot by Kacper Kowalczyk. The shot was saved by Patryk Seroczyński, but the ball fell to the feet of Jakub Pieck coming in from the opposite side, who confidently put it in the net, making the score 2:3. However, that wasn't the last goal of the match. In the 89th minute, the visitors took a free-kick from the left wing. Kacper Kowalczyk opted for a direct shot. The shot was saved again by Patryk Seroczyński, but he failed to hold onto the ball. It fell to the feet of Bartłomiej Jedynak, who finished the job and scored Hutnik's fourth goal.

In this match, Sęp made too many mistakes, and sadly this decided that instead of holding on to the 2:1 lead and celebrating a win, they had to come to terms with a 2:4 loss, which is even more painful given that we conceded 3 goals in just under the last 5 minutes of the game.
