Podlasie II Sokołów Podlaski vs. Sęp: away win 0:2 with goals from Gałkowski, red card for Licbarski
The first half of the match was crucial in achieving a favorable result. Although neither side managed to gain a clear advantage during this period, the Żelechów team was able to create more opportunities, mainly capitalizing on the opponent's mistakes in the form of frequent ball losses. The first goal came in the 28th minute. Damian Grzyb passed the ball to Kuba Gałkowski, positioned at the 11-meter mark, who precisely sent it past goalkeeper Piotr Szczęsny. The hosts went into the break trailing 0:1.
The pattern of play changed in the second half. Sęp shifted to defense, aiming to maintain the lead, while the Sokołów Podlaski players took the offensive. Despite numerous attempts, Podlasie couldn't find an equalizer. Moreover, in the 89th minute, the Żelechów side managed to counterattack. Gałkowski finished off a wing play by cutting into the center of the field and scored his second goal, lobbing over Szczęsny.
Our team ended the game with a man down. Michał Licbarski received two yellow cards for fouls on opponents, leading to a red card. Fortunately, Michał left the field in added time, which didn't significantly weaken the team.
89' Gałkowski Jakub
Securing a victory in Sokołów Podlaski was significant as it provided us an opportunity to improve our current standings in the league table, contingent upon the derby match between Promnik Gończyce and Zryw Sobolew ending in our favor. Luck was on our side in this regard. Promnik managed a 2:2 draw even though they led for the entire 90 minutes. In the injury time, Sihag Sumit, the goalkeeper for the Gończyce team and a former Sęp player, was shown a red card for a foul inside his own penalty box. The penalty awarded to Zryw was converted to a game-tying goal by Marek Górski. The draw between these teams meant that Sęp moved up one position in the league table, now sitting at the 14th spot, overtaking Promnik Gończyce. While this still places us in the relegation zone, it's encouraging to see our team gradually moving towards the mid-table region in recent matches.
