Promnik Gończyce - Sęp: Promnik's 4:2 victory in the derby, Sęp finishes the match shorthanded

The beginning of Sunday's match was rather sluggish from both teams. Promnik tried to retain possession in their own half for long periods, while Sęp aimed to strike when the opportunity arose, but it was evident that both sides didn't want to make a mistake that would lead to conceding a goal.

The scoring was opened in the 18th minute. The hosts were playing the ball in the middle of the pitch, only to send it out wide to Bartek Zackiewicz moments later. The Promnik captain made a run towards the Sęp penalty area and played a cross along the face of the goal. First to it was Norbert Zduńczyk, rushing in from the opposite side, who effortlessly directed the ball past Dominik Kowalski, giving his team a 1:0 lead. However, Sęp's response to the conceded goal was swift.

Just two minutes later, it was 1:1 after Szymon Kowalski took a beautiful long-range shot that looped over the slightly advanced goalkeeper Salamończyk and nestled into the net. Yet, this wasn't the end of Kowalski's scoring exploits. In the 22nd minute, he once again tried his luck from distance, this time shooting lower and closer to the ground. The ball took a bounce just in front of Salamończyk and found its way into the net again. Against expectations, within a span of two minutes, the team from Żelechów had managed to not only equalize but also take a 2:1 lead.

Sęp has been having significant defensive issues this season, and unfortunately, this was confirmed once again in their clash against Promnik. Half an hour into the game, the hosts managed to level the score 2:2 after Bartek Zackiewicz converted a penalty, awarded to his team for a foul by Bartek Wdowiak on an opponent inside the penalty area. While attempting to clear the ball, Wdowiak accidentally hit the opponent's leg, forcing referee Daniel Miler to award a penalty kick.

The second half of the match started disastrously for Sęp. Only two minutes after play resumed, they conceded a third goal, masterfully orchestrated by Przemysław Galbarczyk. He dashed into the penalty area, maneuvered past Adrian Korgul and a scrambling Dominik Kowalski, and slotted the ball into the net.

In the 53rd minute, Krystian Sekuła finished a play initiated on the right wing by Bartek Zackiewicz. The home team's captain crossed the ball into the penalty area. Sebastian Szewczak attempted to clear it but failed to make proper contact. Taking advantage of the airborne ball, Sekuła struck it cleanly over the advancing Kowalski, sending it into the net and increasing his team's lead to 4:2.

The match ended with a scoreline of 4:2, and it was a well-deserved victory for Promnik, who played better that day, created more goal-scoring opportunities, and efficiently capitalized on the errors made by Sęp's players. Despite the loss, young goalkeeper Dominik Kowalski from Żelechów deserves praise for his commendable performance, having showcased several excellent saves throughout the game.
