Sęp - Orzeł Unin: breaking the losing streak and an important 3:1 victory in the derby against Orzeł
The derby started off interestingly, as both sides tried to attack, promising plenty of goal opportunities and emotions on the field. Unfortunately, as the minutes passed, Orzeł's advantage began to emerge. They played more precisely, managed to create more dangerous actions, and took significantly more shots at Patryk Seroczyński's goal. In the 24th minute, after a short break caused by an injury to Kuba Gałkowski, the visitors launched a quick counter-attack down the left wing, which Piotr Poszytek finished with an accurate shot, scoring a goal and putting Orzeł in the lead.
We didn't see any more goals in the first half, and the course of this part of the match suggested that the prospect of Sęp's team achieving a favorable result and breaking their losing streak was becoming increasingly distant.
Gałkowski Jakub 72'
Licbarski Michał 86'
The beginning of the second half was evenly matched, but after a few minutes, a noticeable change in Sęp's play emerged. The players from Żelechów began to play faster, more accurately, and their on-field fight became more visible. It began to resemble their good gameplay from the previous season. The results of this attitude, in terms of goals scored, soon followed.
In the 57th minute, Albert Bożek launched Michał Jaworski with a through ball from the center of the field. Jaworski managed to break away from the defenders, entered Orzeł's penalty area, bypassed the advancing goalkeeper Jakub Kielak, and placed the ball in the net, equalizing the score at 1:1. Less than fifteen minutes later, the score was 2:1. After a one-two play between Słyk and Gałkowski, the latter found himself in a one-on-one situation with Kielak. Gałkowski darted down the right side, shot directly at the visiting goalkeeper, but was more accurate on the rebound, making the ball flutter in the net. Four minutes before the end of regulation time, Michał Licbarski set the final score at 3:1. The goal action was initiated by Szymon Słyk, who won the ball in the middle of the field, which was then reached by Licbarski. Sęp's midfielder breached the defensive line and raced into Orzeł's penalty area to eventually send the ball over the oncoming Jakub Kielak straight into the net.
In the second half, Orzeł also created several dangerous actions and was close to scoring a goal. Fortunately, at key moments, Patryk Seroczyński defended well, playing a significant role in Sęp maintaining a two-goal lead. Sęp ended the match with ten men after Paweł Mazurek received a second yellow, consequently turning into a red card, in the added time of the game.
