Sęp - Jastrząb Żeliszew: impressive 8:1 win to conclude the autumn round.
Before the match, both teams were close to each other in the league table, and an evenly matched game was expected based solely on statistics. However, the first minutes of the match showed that statistics often don't reflect what happens on the field. Sęp clearly dominated the entire first half, mainly in ball possession, more dynamic play, and the shooting opportunities they created. The players from Żeliszew managed only a few harmless counterattacks in this part of the game and made one very dangerous shot after the Żelechów players made a defensive error and lost the ball in their own half. However, Mateusz Bryl rose to the occasion and saved this shot.
Sęp started their scoring concert in the 22nd minute. Hubert Król showcased an individual action, dribbling between the defenders of the visitors lined up before the penalty area, then entering the box to take a shot, which, although it hit the intervening hands of Pazdyka, ended up in Jastrząb's goal. In the 33rd minute, a very nice three-player action involving Licbarski, Gałkowski, and Stodulski ended with the latter scoring accurately. Two more goals fell at the end of the first half. First, in the 44th minute, Damian Grzyb, after receiving the ball from Michał Licbarski, made an effective run into the Żeliszew sixteen and placed the ball in the net, and shortly after, Paweł Mazurek utilized a precise straight pass from Gałkowski and with an accurate shot from 14 meters to the "near" post, beat the guest team's goalkeeper again.
Stodulski Albert 33'
Grzyb Damian 44'
Mazurek Paweł 45'
Gałkowski Jakub 47'
Gałkowski Jakub 70'
Kowalski Szymon 84'
Kryczka Szymon 86'
The Żelechów team started the second half very well and just 2 minutes after the game resumed, they were already leading 5:0. The ball moved flawlessly from outside Sęp's penalty area. Król passed to Stodulski positioned in the middle of the field, and he, with a through pass to Kuba Gałkowski, who had run past the last defender, went around Pazdyka, coming out to the thirty-meter mark, and sent the ball into the empty net.
In the following minutes, the game became more balanced, and Jastrząb's players more frequently threatened Mateusz Bryl's goal, but not enough to score. Indeed, in the 65th minute, Paweł Jóźwiak scored the first goal for his team, confidently executing a penalty kick, but as it turned out later, it was their only and consolation goal of the day. Sęp, on the other hand, played consistently and confidently, and most importantly, was ruthlessly exploiting the opponent's mistakes, which translated into further increasing their lead.
In the 70th minute, the Żeliszew players made a mistake trying to clear the ball from their penalty area. It landed at the feet of Michał Licbarski, who passed it to Gałkowski positioned on the sixteen-meter line, and he, with a very precise shot near the right post, left the opposing goalkeeper with no chance. The icing on the cake in the match was put by Sęp's substitutes, specifically Szymon Kowalski and Szymon Kryczka, who replaced Szymon Słyk and Kuba Gałkowski respectively. Kowalski in the 84th minute followed up a shot saved by Pazdyga from Sebastian Wdowiak, and Kryczka took advantage of a terrible mistake by a Jastrząb player and also scored accurately from around six meters.
We are very pleased with the performance and efficiency of our players throughout the match. Let's hope it was a good omen for what we will see in the spring round of their performance :)
