Sęp - MKS Małkinia: Solid and consistent play from the first minutes secured a 3:0 victory

Marcin Sągol

In difficult weather conditions, our team faced a much higher-ranked opponent today, the team from MKS Małkinia. The first half ended in a goalless draw, although we witnessed shots hitting the crossbar and post. In the second half, Sęp clearly dominated and within less than ten minutes managed to score as many as 3 goals. The scoring was opened by Kuba Gałkowski, who confidently executed a penalty kick. Then, Michał Jaworski and Michał Licbarski got their names on the score list.

In the first 45 minutes of the match, a slight advantage of Sęp could be noticed, who "visited" the opponent's goal area more often and maintained possession of the ball for longer periods. However, the players from Małkinia tried not to give ground and also attempted to construct offensive plays.

The first very dangerous shot of the match was taken by Hubert Król, who decided to strike from 20 meters after one of the plays. Unfortunately, the ball hit the crossbar. A few minutes later, Sęp was quite fortunate. The Małkinians launched an attack down the right wing. The ball was played into the penalty area, from where Piotr Chlubicki headed it to Mateusz Jakubowski, who was positioned by the goal, and he directed it towards the net with a somewhat inaccurate shot. At the last moment, however, Albert Bożek managed to clear the ball from the goal line, and after the follow-up from Jakubowski, the ball hit the post and went out of play. Further attempts by Sęp were made by Michał Jaworski, Albert Bożek, and Kuba Gałkowski, who impressed with a nice shot from a bicycle kick, but there were no goals.

After the sides changed, Sęp's advantage became much more apparent. In the 66th minute, Jakub Borowy, the goalkeeper for the visitors, committed a foul around the 16-meter mark on a Sęp player, resulting in a penalty kick being awarded. Kuba Gałkowski stepped up to take it and confidently struck the ball close to the right post, putting the team from Żelechów ahead 1:0. Less than 180 seconds later, the score was 2:0. This time, Michał Jaworski got his name on the scoresheet, scoring a goal by sending a cross from the wing into the visitors' net, accurately heading the ball. In the 77th minute, Michał Licbarski scored the third goal for the hosts, finishing the ball from eight meters after Borowy had initially saved a shot from Stodulski. Sęp had a few more good opportunities but ultimately the entire match ended with a score of 3:0.

It's worth emphasizing that our team played very well today. There were no longer the defensive errors that had often plagued us in recent weeks. Throughout the entire match, the players from Żelechów played very solidly and confidently, not giving the players from Małkinia a chance to take the initiative.
