ULKS Gołąbek - Sęp: 1:2 Victory After a Goal in Added Time

Currently, Gołąbek's team holds the fourth place in the table, and it was known before today's match that they are a tough opponent, not easy to defeat on their home ground. Despite this, Sęp had a slight edge in the first half of the meeting. However, neither side was able to create a favorable scoring opportunity for a long time. The breakthrough came just before the break. In the 42nd minute, Sebastian Wdowiak took a free kick from the right corner of the field. Our striker crossed the ball towards the goal and somewhat unexpectedly, despite the host goalkeeper's attempt to intervene, it ended up in the net. Thus, Sęp went into the break with a one-goal lead.

The second half presented a distinctly different picture. The hosts had a decisive advantage in the game plan and created many dangerous situations in front of Sęp's goal. In the 58th minute, they managed to equalize. The goal for 1:1 came after a corner kick. The ball was crossed to the far post, where Roman Biliński was not adequately marked and he directed it into Dominik Kowalski's goal.

The pressure from the hosts increased, and Sęp focused mainly on launching sporadic counterattacks. It is worth noting that Dominik Kowalski made several excellent interventions, saving our team from conceding further goals several times. We were also a bit lucky, for example, when a Gołąbek player shot over the bar from about three meters away from our goal.

The fate of the match was decided by a counterattack that Sęp launched in added time. The ball from the middle of the field was passed to the right side to Kuba Gałkowski, who then sent it into the penalty area with a direct pass to Szymon Kowalski. Without a moment's hesitation, our striker decided to shoot, and with a firm strike near the near post, he directed the ball into the opponent's net, securing an away win of 1:2 for Sęp! This was Szymon's sixth goal of the current season, and in the ranking of the top scorers in our team, he currently holds second place.
