Orzeł Unin - Sęp: Derby full of emotions, from a 3:1 lead to a 3:3 draw

In recent years, whenever our team faces Orzeł, we can usually expect an emotional, action-packed match. This time was no different...

We started very well. After surviving the hosts' early attacks, we launched a counter that ended with a goal by Maksymilian Dębowski in the 11th minute. A few minutes later, Orzeł missed a great chance to equalize, as their player failed to beat Mateusz Bryl twice from close range. Unfortunately, in the 31st minute, the score was level. Bartek Wdowiak fouled an opponent just outside the penalty area, and Dawid Domarecki stepped up to take the free kick, sending a precise shot around the wall and into the net. Sęp regained the lead in the 41st minute. A through ball from our own half found Maksymilian Dębowski, who received it near the 40-meter mark, broke away from his defender, entered the box, and calmly slotted the ball home.

The second half began perfectly for us. In the 55th minute, Hubert Król broke into Orzeł’s penalty area from the right wing and sent a low cross across the goal, where Jakub Głodek was on hand to finish the move and make it 3:1. However, as time went on, our game began to falter. We started making more defensive errors and playing less accurately. As a result, in the 67th minute, Damian Matysiak pulled one back for the hosts, and in the 75th minute, Dawid Domarecki equalized again.

It’s a shame how we finished this match against Orzeł. We managed to build a solid 3:1 lead, but we couldn’t hold on to it. Had we been a bit more precise and focused in the second half, we surely could have come away with the win.
