Sęp – Płomień Dębe Wielkie: Red Card, Missed Penalty, 2–0 Victory

The visitors started the game more energetically, creating a few dangerous situations in front of Mateusz Bryl’s goal. Fortunately, we managed to defend well each time – sometimes with a bit of luck. As the minutes passed, Sęp became much more dangerous in attack. Maksymilian Dębowski failed to convert a great opportunity when he went one-on-one with goalkeeper Winiarczyk, but he redeemed himself in the 35th minute. After receiving a pass from his own half by Hubert Król, Dębowski controlled the ball around the 40-meter mark and, despite the pressure of two Płomień defenders, managed to break into the penalty area and slot the ball past the onrushing goalkeeper. Our lead was doubled in the 43rd minute when Mikołaj Głodek finished off a fine one-two combination with Dębowski. Unfortunately, early in the second half, Jakub Głodek suffered a serious knee injury and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance for further tests (we wish Kuba a speedy recovery).
The second half started badly for Płomień. Their player, Kacper Pyrek, received his second yellow card for a foul and was sent off. With a man advantage, Sęp dominated play. However, finishing remained the issue… Mikołaj Głodek missed a penalty, and both Dębowski and Hubert Król failed to convert one-on-one chances against Winiarczyk. Ultimately, the match ended 2–0, although with better finishing we would surely have seen many more goals.
