Summary of the 22nd round of matches in the Siedlce District League for the 2022/23 season

Marcin Sągol

Over the past weekend, the 22nd round of matches was played, bringing plenty of excitement and resulting in several significant changes at the top of the league table. Sęp, after losing 1:4 to Orzeł Unin, fell to fourth place in favor of the Siennica team, which defeated Wilga Miastków Kościelny 3:0. With a total of 39 points, they overtook żelechowiaków and currently hold the third position.

Sęp, after their Saturday loss in Unin, is now 8 points behind the leader but it is worth noting that they have also played one less match compared to each of the three teams ahead of them, which are Orzeł Unin, Watra Mrozy, and Fenix Siennica, respectively.

In the last round, Watra had a chance to extend their point advantage over Sęp, but only managed to secure a draw in their match against the bottom-placed team, Kosovia Kosów Lacki. Coached by Jaromir Kostrzewa, they took the lead in the 69th minute after a goal by Piotr Kowalczyk, but in the final moments of the game, Tobiasz Mróz equalized. The upset became a reality and Kosovia once again took points from a team at the very top of the table (in the previous round, they also drew 1:1 with Orzeł Unin).
