Summary of the performances of the Sęp Żelechów senior team in the 2022/23 season

Marcin Sągol

We will soon begin preparations for the new 2023/24 football season, but it's worth taking a moment to look back at the previous one and analyze how our team's performances unfolded over the past months. Therefore, we invite you to a brief summary of the past season.

Match statistics

Looking at the results achieved by our team, it is clear that the spring round was decidedly more successful for them, as they claimed as many as 9 victories. In this year's competition, we only managed to end the matches with a win four times and unfortunately, we had to leave the pitch as the losers as many as 6 times (during this period, we also experienced a streak of five consecutive matches ended in defeat) and we drew four times.

The results of individual matches can also be divided into those that our team played on their own field (or as hosts playing, for example, in Gończyce) and those played away. Last season, playing at home, we recorded 9 wins, 2 draws, and 3 losses. In away matches, this balance is as follows: 4 wins, 3 draws, and 7 losses.

The most effective players in the Sęp team

The most effective player in our team (just like it was at the midpoint of the season) turned out to be Kuba Gałkowski. In the spring round, Kuba scored 8 goals, which combined with thirteen goals in the autumn gave a total of 21 goals. Kuba is the only player who scored over 20 goals throughout the season. It's worth adding that our midfielder ranked fourth in the general classification of the district league. Only Piotr Kowalczyk - 27 goals (Watra Mrozy), Dawid Sałasiński - 26 goals (Czarni Węgrów), and Łukasz Naumiuk - 22 goals (ŁDK Łosice) were ahead of him.

Gałkowski Jakub - 21 goals

Stodulski Albert - 10 goals

Jaworski Michał - 7 goals

The second place in terms of effectiveness went to Albert Stodulski, who accumulated 10 goals on his account. Unfortunately, the spring round was not very successful for Albert and our striker scored only 4 goals in it, although there were plenty of opportunities to score. However, we are counting on Albert scoring goals much more often in the upcoming season.

The last place on the podium went to Michał Jaworski, mainly thanks to goals scored in the first half of the season. This year, Michał played decidedly fewer matches and added only one goal to his account, ending the competition with a total of seven goals.

Time spent on the pitch

The most minutes spent on the pitch (in relation to the matches played) were allocated to our most effective player, Kuba Gałkowski. Kuba participated in a total of 25 matches, spending an average of 86.9 minutes on the pitch in each (total 2172 minutes). The second place in this ranking went to Michał Jaworski with an average of 86.1 minutes per match (total 1721 minutes), however, Michał also played slightly fewer matches than Kuba in the whole season, i.e. 20.

The third place in this ranking went to defender Bartek Wdowiak, who can boast an average of 85.6 minutes per match. However, it is worth noting that Bartek played in each of the 28 matches that our team played and spent the most minutes on the pitch in total, as much as 2397. Sebastian Szewczak's activity is also noteworthy, who also appeared in every Sęp match in the past season and spent a total of 2365 minutes on the field!

* the following ranking only includes those players who played on the pitch in the regular time, i.e. 90 minutes and only these minutes are taken into account (there are no exact statistics from one match regarding three substitutions in its second half so players coming off were assigned 60 minutes, and players coming on were assigned 30 minutes).
