Summary of the 28th Round of the Siedlce District League Season 2023/24

The 28th round of matches, played last weekend, was important for teams still fighting for both the league title and to avoid relegation. The leading team, Pogoń II Siedlce, and the second-placed team, Wektra Zbuczyn, both won their matches. There are still only 3 points separating the two teams with 2 rounds remaining in the season.

With mathematical chances of remaining in the district league, Promnik Gończyce approached their match against Gołąbek at home. The match started very well for Promnik. Despite missing an excellent opportunity to score in the first minutes, Dawid Kasperczyk didn't miss in the 6th minute and gave his team a 1-0 lead. Unfortunately, Gołąbek quickly recovered and, after a subsequent counterattack, equalized to 1-1, with Sebastian Waszczuk getting on the scoresheet. In the 19th minute, it was already 1-2 after Michał Sulej scored another goal for the visitors.

In the following stages of the match, the team from Gończyce created several excellent scoring opportunities, but they were unable to convert them into goals. The match ultimately ended with a 1-3 scoreline, as Szymon Skóra scored the third goal for the visitors in the third minute of added time.
