Convincing 3:0 Victory over KKS Kozienice in the II Provincial Cadet League 2024/25

The start of the first set was fairly balanced, but soon our players took control, first gaining a 12:9 lead, then extending it to 17:12. Unfortunately, at this point, the Żelechów team’s play began to falter, allowing the opponents to level at 17:17 and take the lead at 17:21. The tide turned again when Kinga Włodarczyk stepped up to serve. With several strong serves, we regained the lead at 22:21 and held Kozienice scoreless from then on, winning the first set 25:21.

The second set began in a similar back-and-forth fashion, as shown by the 9:9 score. However, Sęp quickly established a solid lead, first reaching 13:9 and then stretching it to 18:11. Leading 24:17, we had a brief slump, allowing the opponents to reduce the gap to 4 points, but we ultimately secured the set point, ending the set at 25:21.

The third set saw our team initially chasing the score. The Kozienice players were slightly more effective and maintained a 2-3 point lead for a while (5:7, 7:10, 10:12). The breakthrough came halfway through the set, with Żelechów leveling the score at 13:13 and then taking the lead at 17:14, 20:17, and 21:18. The guests managed to score two consecutive points, narrowing Sęp's lead, but our players handled the end of the set confidently. After strong serves from Lena Rybitwa and Marta Kozłowska, we reached match point. Following a serve by Olga Gendek, the opponents made a reception error, giving us the third set 25:22 and a 3-0 win overall!

The win over KKS Kozienice marked our team’s fifth consecutive victory in the II Provincial Cadet League. Huge congratulations to the girls and coach Łukasz Bogusz! We’re keeping our fingers crossed for continued success in the upcoming matches :)
