Sęp - Ar-Tig Huta Dąbrowa: 9-6 Victory in the Third Friendly Match Before the Spring Round of the 2024/25 Season

Marcin Sągol

In their third friendly match of the year, coach Piotr Szymański's players faced Ar-Tig Huta Dąbrowa, a team currently competing in Class A (Biała Podlaska Group II) and led by coach Grzegorz Frankowski. After an exciting game filled with plenty of goal-scoring opportunities, our team claimed a 9-6 victory.

We started today’s match with a lineup similar to last week, although without Michał Licbarski (absent today), whose spot was taken by Sebastian Szewczak. In the very first 22 seconds, Maksymilian Dębowski scored a precise shot, putting our team ahead 1-0. In the following minutes, the opponents posed a greater threat and managed to equalize in the 8th minute. Less than 15 minutes into the game, Sęp took firm control, which was reflected in more goals: two additional strikes by Dębowski and three by Szymon Kryczka! We ended the first half with a commanding 6-1 lead.

In the second half, coach Szymański began introducing substitutes, including Albert Stodulski, who extended Sęp's lead to 7-1 in the 49th minute. The visitors launched several counterattacks, two of which ended with successful strikes: Adam Wachowiak scored in the 51st minute, and Przemysław Koślacz netted in the 55th. At that point, the score was 7-3, but just a minute later, it changed to 8-3 as Sebastian Wdowiak found the back of the Ar-Tig net.

In the final 15 minutes of today's match, we made a few defensive mistakes, which allowed the visitors to capitalize three more times and score additional goals. On our side, only Albert Stodulski added one more strike in the 87th minute, sealing the match at 9-6.

Despite conceding a large number of goals, today’s performance from our players was impressive at times. There were moments when we held possession for long periods and also executed quick, well-coordinated attacking plays that resulted in goals. In the next friendly, scheduled for this coming Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. in Gończyce, we will face Ruch Ryki.
